Hi Beauty
Affirmations for women are like seeds that can help us flourish.
We tend to forget just how powerful words are, especially the words that we say to ourselves.
It may be helpful to rather think of yourself as a plant – when we give plants consistent praise, they grow and blossom.
In the same way, we thrive when we encourage and speak kindly to ourselves.
Whether you have low self-esteem, struggle to stay motivated or want to become more efficient in achieving your goals, affirmations are an incredible tool for self-improvement and success.
In this article, I will discuss what affirmations are, how they can transform your life in a beautiful way and how to create your own.
Get ready to bloom!
What Is An Affirmation?
An affirmation is a declaration of a completed goal.
In other words, if there is something that you want, an affirmation is saying that you already have it.
Let’s say you’re unhappy in your current job and you’re looking for a new job which will be more rewarding.
An affirmation that you could use for this would be “I am so happy to be working at my dream job.”
Or if you fantasize about taking a vacation in Bali, you can say “I am so excited to be going on holiday to Bali tomorrow.”
In both situations, you are expressing that you are living out your goal right now, even though in reality it hasn’t happened yet.
Why Are Affirmations So Powerful?
So by now, you’re probably wondering how affirmations work.
Affirmations speak directly to your subconscious mind and can rewire your existing beliefs, thought patterns and behaviour.
As sophisticated as it is, the subconscious mind can’t tell what is true or false; it simply receives information and then acts accordingly.
So when you use the affirmation “I am so happy to be working at my dream job,” the subconscious mind doesn’t know that this doesn’t reflect your present reality.
What it instead does is accept that information as fact and align your thoughts and behaviour with it.
You will then act and feel as if you have your dream job, and sure enough you will attract the right opportunities that will lead you to achieve your goal.
If you say that you have your dream job, then you will start to believe that you are talented enough to be in that position and you will then have the confidence to apply for that position.
“Change your thoughts and you change your world” – Norman Vincent Peale.
Essentially, affirmations work by changing the internal so that external goals can be achieved.
How Affirmations Will Benefit Your Life
A lot of us limit ourselves with negative beliefs about who we are and what we are capable of.
These negative beliefs have been ingrained in our subconscious mind over time and materialize in our thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
Positive affirmations actively challenge and overcome negative and self-sabotaging beliefs.
When you learn to believe in yourself and your ability to succeed, then you will become limitless and reach your full potential.
And if you feel like you’re confident and secure enough already, then affirmations are fantastic for keeping you focused on your goals.
Your productivity levels increase and stress levels decrease when you’ve constantly got your eyes on the prize.
Even better, positive affirmations keep you in a state of gratitude, which will boost your overall happiness.
Whatever it is that you’re looking to improve, these powerful mantras are the key to transformation.
Create Your Own Affirmations In 9 Simple Steps
If you’d like to have affirmations that are unique to you and really hit home, then it’s a great idea to create your own.
The guidelines below list the best practices and are a helpful place to start.
Of course, it’s up to you what you want to say and how you want to say it.
1. Set Your Goal
The trick here is to get really clear and specific about what it is that you want to achieve.
If you want to take part in and complete a marathon, then choose which particular marathon and its date, what the total distance is that you want to run, and in what time.
2. Who You Need To Be To Achieve These Goals
Now think about what kind of person you will need to be to achieve that goal; what characteristics will you need to have?
Try not to worry about the ‘how’ at this point – that will become clear as you move forward.
The focus is on who you need to be and not what you need to do.
For example, if you want to run a marathon then focus on the attributes a runner has, rather than how you’re going to be able to run the marathon.
It may be helpful to imagine yourself as a marathon runner and what characteristics you have used or acquired to reach that goal.
Characteristics of a runner could include: disciplined, committed, resilient, focused, healthy, rested and so on.
3. Create Concise Phrases Affirming The Above
These phrases need to be short and punchy so that they are easy to remember and to say.
This is not an academic or work presentation where you need to use big words and long sentences to look serious.
You’ll have much better success using affirmations that are catchy and to the point.
Using the attributes listed above, an affirmation for this could be; “I am a disciplined runner.”

4. Write In The Present Tense
As mentioned above, the purpose of affirmations is to declare a goal as if it is being achieved in the present moment.
Saying that you will do something in the future unfortuhttp://localhost/nat2/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/rsz_1img_0594_original-e1652283127352-1.jpgely won’t bring about the transformation that you need now.
Writing it in the future tense does not activate the subconscious mind to create the changes that you need to complete your goal.
Let’s be honest, it’s not really inspiring to say “I will become a marathon runner in the next five years.”
Even if your goal is long term, make sure that your affirmation is written in the present tense.
5. Make It Positive
An easy way to get this right is by starting each affirmation with either “I am” or “I say yes to.”
Although, even then there may be a few loopholes.
Try to remember that we want to focus on a positive change and what we are working towards.
So even if the intention is positive, like “I am no longer spending hours watching TV” or “I am not eating take-out food anymore,” the affirmation is still not as positive as it could be.
Instead, you can say “I am spending my free time outdoors” or “I am enjoying cooking my meals.”

6. Get Emotional
Inject enthusiasm and energy into your affirmations!
Not only will this make you feel more pumped up about achieving your goal but it will instantly lift your mood and raise your vibrational frequency.
Level up your affirmations to “I am so excited to run this marathon today” or “I am so grateful to have a strong and healthy body.”
You’ll be shocked to see what a difference this makes!
7. Make It Believable
You may be tempted to say something along the lines of: “I am a dedicated athlete who prioritizes running above all else, who maintains a strict diet and exercise regime no matter rain or sunshine or work commitments…”
It’s important to remember that, one, this is not Sparta, and two, that you want to set goals that are realistic.
Please don’t think that you must limit yourself, by any means.
But also be aware that we all need to learn how to crawl before we can walk, or, in this case, walk before we can run.
You may want to upgrade your affirmations as you go.
If you start off with an affirmation of “I am so happy that I can run 5km,” then after six weeks you can change it to 7km and so on.
Note that it takes about 21 days for the affirmations to work, so I wouldn’t recommend changing them before you have practised them for 28 days.
8. Beat the Bully
Chances are good that you’re going to experience some automatic negative feedback when you start practising your daily affirmations.
Most of us have a bully that lives in our thoughts who will take the first opportunity to make us feel down and limited.
But by having this awareness, you will be more prepared with understanding how this voice is not the truth.
The best way to beat the bully is to write out your positive affirmations and then on a different page write the negative thought that comes up.
An example of this would be “I could never run a marathon because I will never be fit enough.”
Then, change it to a positive statement: “I am capable of doing anything I put my mind to.”
Say this positive statement straight after your affirmation to immediately fight off the negative thoughts (think of it as prepping your comebacks).
You can link your affirmation with the positive comeback using the word “because.”
9. Eat, Sleep, Affirm, Repeat.
Repetition is the reason why affirmations work.
Set aside five minutes of your day to stand in front of the mirror and say your affirmations.
If you can do this more than once a day, that’s fantastic!
It may be helpful to set an alarm to remind you to do it, as you may forget about it at first.
Remember that it will take at least 21 days for the subconscious to really absorb your affirmations, so be sure to stick to it if you want to see results.
